On Thursday October 8, 2020, the Fourth Annual Friends of Jay Dion Memorial Golf Classic will take place at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough, Massachusetts.

As many of you know, Jay Dion passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife Gayle, and two children; Logan and Tyler.  Jay was 52 at the time of his passing.  NUT Carcinoma is a very rare and aggressive cancer type.  It took Jay's life in less than 11 short weeks. He was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend, and a successful Engineering Manager at Boston Scientific in Marlborough, MA. Although he was many things to many people, his true love in life was his role as a mentor. Jay’s goals were to care for his family giving them more than he had while growing up and to mentor others to strive to reach their full potential.  He inspired co-workers, family and friends, always with a joke and challenge.

Our first 3 tournaments were a huge success.  Each of the first two tournaments raised over $50,000 for The Jimmy Fund and our third tournament in 2019 raised over $60,000.  These funds helped spawn the "Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women's Hospital Center for the Study of NUT Midline Carcinoma."  Such a center will be the first of its kind, and seed funding is needed to initiate catalytic goals for NMC.  In addition, our tournaments raised $25,000 to fund the Jay Dion Memorial Scholarship fund awarded to Algonquin seniors.

Because of his passion to help others, we wish to continue honoring Jay’s memory by raising additional money to contribute to The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and continue funding a scholarship trust for graduating seniors heading to college who may have suffered the loss of a parent or other hardships.  A portion of the funds raised will also be directed to research for treatments for Nut Midline Carcinoma.

Please join us as we roll out the red carpet for you and your guests for a day of golf and festivities (…See attached Registration Form).  We are targeting to once again fill two18-hole golf courses with 288 golfers, followed by a banquet and reception honoring Jay’s memory (tickets to the banquet only are also available for non-players).  Participants will receive an exclusive gift package including golf accessories and other special giveaways related to Jay and his passion for life. The top-ranking foursomes will receive great gifts and awards.

Foursomes for the tournament are limited, so please complete the registration at your earliest convenience.  If you are not able to participate in the tournament this year, we would still like to recognize your support for the Friends of Jay Dion Memorial Classic through a monetary donation or gift for our silent auction.

Please join us as we honor Jay.  Let his legacy be a reminder that life is short and that we all must do our part to be better people.
