About

The South Salt Lake Police Athletic/Activities League (SSL PAL) is a nonprofit (501- c-3) organization that promotes positive youth development through educational, athletic and recreational activities that create trust and understanding between police officers and youth, provide mentoring opportunities to youth, connect youth with strong and positive role models in the community, encourage healthy decision making and self-esteem, and create and promote community partnerships and involvement.

Each year, SSL PAL works to reach over a thousand at-risk youth in our community through its work in afterschool programs, structured recreation opportunities, literacy initiatives and service learning projects. In SSL PAL programs, South Salt Lake’s young people are engaged in learning social skills, character education, and life skills, and they become less likely to face challenges such as substance abuse, early pregnancy, gang involvement and other delinquent behaviors that have a direct impact on the quality and economy of a community.
