Kids in Disability Sports, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) has been enriching the lives of individuals with special needs for the last twenty four years. In 1995, we began with a local basketball program, and have grown to offer many different teambuilding activities across the Merrimack Valley. We help members develop a healthy lifestyle while boosting self-esteem and promoting confidence through recreational activities. Members of K.I.D.S. compete to the best of their ability while developing independence and gaining invaluable friendships.
Kids In Disability Sports
To improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through sports, social, recreational and therapeutic programs; thus building confidence, character and self esteem, while teaching the value of teamwork and cooperation. Every child should have equal access to sports, social and life skill opportunities.
Founded in 1995, Kids in Disability Sports, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1999.
Providing social and recreational opportunities for individuals with special needs is the main goal of this Lowell, Massachusetts based group. K.I.D.S. began by offering a specialized basketball program in 1995. K.I.D.S. quickly grew from a small idea providing for an "unseen" population, into an organization that serves individuals and families throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. Today, fifteen specialized athletic programs are available. K.I.D.S. also hosts dances, awards banquets, social activities and recreational events throughout the year.
