Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter

Tuskegee Airmen Inc:

The Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter is a chartered member of the National Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. organization,

operating in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. The chapter's mission is to honor the legacy of the original Tuskegee Airmen,

who trained for the United States Army Air Forces in Tuskegee, Alabama during the 1940s. We promote the legacy of the

Tuskegee Airmen and of those "Red Tails" still among us through chapter-sponsored events and activities. We herald the

outstanding accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen and tell the story of the frustrations, aspirations, and achievements of

these pioneering heroes who served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.Willie Carter changed the lives of so many young

men and women as an innovative Principal at Mechanicstown Elementary(renamed the William A. Carter Elementary in his honor)

in Middletown, New York. Known as an exceptional golfer and teacher, Willie has been vaulted to urban-legend status.

Our Tuskegee Airmen Chapter has also positively impacted many lives in the community. Our collaborative efforts have

awarded over $200,000.00 in scholarships and other in-kind donationsto deserving young men and women all over the

Hudson Valley. This golf tournament is near and dear to our hearts because it not only supports the Tuskegee Airmen

Tuition Assistanceprogram which grants scholarships to young men and women in the area, it also provides funding

for the Lee A. Archer, Jr.Red Tail Youth Flying Program. Both of these programs are specifically geared toward our youth

and help us keep the stories of the pioneering Tuskegee Airmen heroes alive as part our American History

- a mission that makes us very proud.

If you cannot attend, please consider a tax-deductible donation. Thank you.
